I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
